A website called VARK, created by author Neil D. Fleming and co-author Charles C. Bonwell, has a questionnaire that you can take to see what kind of learner you are. After completing the questionnaire, it indicated that I am a multimodal learner. It informed me that I use visual and kinesthetic strategies the most throughout my English, FYES, and math classes to help me learn. In English, I use some of these strategies, such as hands-on approaches and underlining with different color highlighters.

I’m dominantly a visual learner, but also learn as a active or kinesthetic learner which is through activities, knowing this helps me to realize how to grasp ideas in classes and how to make my understanding stronger .
In 1987 Neil Fleming introduced learning style model for visual, aural, read/write and kinesthetic preferences [12]. In 1992 Neil D. Fleming and Colleen Mills designed a technique to address students learning preferences in which a set of 13 questions was used [11]. Later on one more preference called multimodal was introduced to cater the needs of learners having multiple preferences for learning. VARK is popular tool in Western Part of the world as it is easy to use; it provides help sheets for learners, instructors and other users like employers, employees. Recent version developed in 2006 contains 16 Questions and four options for answers whose wording is according to 21st century.
