This case is about a forty five year old man named Colin. Colin has a five year-old son named Toby who lives with his ex-partner Patricia and her boyfriend Jon. Colin is desperately seeking work after losing his job through redundancy. As a result, Colin signed on for benefits and due to being out of work for 12 months was eligible for the government work programme. He left the programme resulting in losing his entitlement for his job seekers allowance and housing benefits.

In mental health there are a lot of different roles of different agencies and professionals within the assessments, both of these are for the protection of the service user and service provisions these include mental health services which are set up and run by the NHS organisations as well as some voluntary sectors there are also private companies which are paid for by or commissioned by the NHS. There are several procedures that help to maintain this health and safety however they can all vary between settings for example, health and safety procedures will be slightly different and more focused on certain areas in hospitals and especially in paediatric ward compared to in drop-in centres where the needs and risk to service users are slightly different. Some of the procedures used in health and social care to maintain health and safety include; infection control and prevention, safe moving and handling of equipment and individuals, food preparation and storage, storage and administration of medication and storage and disposal of hazardous substances.
A Community Health Needs Health (CHNA) is a process designed to identify health issues within a community, recognize the neediest, ensure the accessibility of health care resources, and ensure the good use of those resources. The ultimate goal of a community health needs assessment is to promote community healthcare by identifying and prioritizing health needs, knowing the available resources, and proposing an adequate action plan to address needs (Pennel, McLeroy, Burdine, Matarrita-Cascante, 2015). However, the assessment method is different form one researcher to another. In fact the best community health needs assessment approach remains unknown (Becker, 2015). However, there are many critics among the scientific community on the quality of some approaches.
Health Assessment A comprehensive family assessment provides the foundation to promote family health (Kaakinen, 2010). Gordon’s functional health assessment is a holistic approach describing the individual’s biopsychosocial-spiritual, interrelated behaviors in 11 different areas in a family/community life (Edelman & Mandle, 2010). The author of this report, assessed a family of four that live in Aurora, Illinois by asking open ended questions in the eleven categories of Gordon’s functional health pattern theory. The author then analyzed the data and developed a wellness diagnosis for the family.
