Similar to other immigrants my family history is somewhat compelling. Starting with my grandfather who was exiled out of Egypt in 1959 primarily as a result of the "decolonization process and the rise of Egyptian nationalism”, my immediate family and I also left France in 2004 as a result of rising tension against Jews. The migration of my grandparents and parents, from a young age, cultivated a sense of determination in me to overcome obstacles. Arriving in Miami at age 5, I had to learned my third language, English, in order to attend school. I was determined to and successfully lost my accent and got tested into the gifted program after a year of school.
in History and Liberty’s graduate program will serve as a respectable and valued stepping stone on my way while allowing me to continue my professional career and support my family. This is invaluable to me as military service member serving in the United States Navy Reserves and a secondary educator in the world of professional development. As a student I enjoy research and have a thirst for knowledge however I also enjoy serving as a contributor to that research as well. During my undergraduate time at the University of South Carolina I elected to write an undergraduate thesis on Theodore Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet predicated on the fact that I truly enjoy research based learning.
This is what I love about the university; its emphasis on liberal arts through the Core will broaden my interests and prompt me to engage in new ways of thinking, not with the standard textbook method, but through exposure to Socratic seminars, fascinating discussions, and fieldwork. The Core will give my mind plenty of food for thought, so that it can thrive in the intellectual atmosphere that characterizes the University of
I see myself being an engaged member of the WCU and Brinson Honors College community by being involved in community service opportunities, becoming a member of leadership organizations, and taking advantage of opportunities to study and serve in a different country or to participate in undergraduate studies. I plan to be engaged in the WCU community by being involved in all that I can be involved in. Specifically, I hope to become involved in at least one of the faith-based groups on campus, such as the Baptist Student Fellowship at WCU or the Campus Crusade for Christ. Becoming involved in faith-based organizations is important to me and will allow me to love God and love people better by learning more about God and participating in service projects that will share his love and truth. Additionally, I want to join a local Church family, where I hope to serve in various aspects of the Church, especially those that involve children, something that I am passionate about.

As I think of the University of Mississippi, the aspect that most impresses me, and is an addition to my desire to immerse myself in this prominent learning community is the University's outstanding resources. I am very attracted to the opportunity to explore and learn at the University of Mississippi's science departments. Science has been my academic passion ever since I entered middle school. Since then, I have always wanted to get into the medical field to become a neurologist. I believe the brain is a black box with endless mysteries waiting to be explored.

I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.
I have always been involved beyond the classroom with the schools I attend. I attended King Kekaulike High School in Maui. My freshman year, I was an active member in Interact club, a local service club. I was also on the junior varsity volleyball team and the girls varsity soccer team. I was the team captain for the girls varsity soccer team at KKHS both my junior and senior year.
As a well-known research universityxx:”?, at Brown I would have the opportunity to perfect my research skills and conduct studies with devoted professors. The recent Brown alumni, who are current leaders in the biology field exemplify the strength of the life science department at Brown, the extensive internship network, and the power of a Brown education. Like all Brown students, my enthusiasm would not end in the classroom, but rather lead me to engage with Brown community, through clubs, including service, science, and leadership groups. I am eager to participate in Brown traditions, including the midnight organ recital on Halloween and help to keep the Brown spirit alive. Brown University will support my educational goal to attend graduate
Throughout history, the United States of America has often been described as a “melting pot,” meaning a place where many different types of people blend together to form one, unified nation. If this description of the United States is accurate, it is crucial to ensure that all of these different individuals are able to live in harmony with one another. This is especially true at the collegiate level of education. In the last few decades, liberal arts colleges have made it their mission to increase diversity on their campuses. Diversity comes in several forms, particularly class-based and racial.
As one of the world's extraordinary colleges, the University of Chicago has been forming advanced education—and the scholarly existences of students—for over a century. A private foundation contracted in 1890, Chicago's 203-section of land grounds on the shores of Lake Michigan has been home to 78 Nobel Laureates, the biggest number associated with any American college. Chicago researchers were the first to part the iota, to gauge the pace of light, and to build up the field of human science. I was going to start: 'When I think back on my four years at the University of Chicago, they appear to me like a merry dream.' But that is unequivocally off-base.
“The University of Chicago teaches not what to think, but how. In an atmosphere of free and open inquiry, students and professors debate, collaborate, and investigate, challenging assumptions—and one another—with field-advancing insights backed by rigorous study. This unique UChicago education transforms individuals, preparing and empowering them to make a positive impact on the world”. When I read that quote on UChicago’s website, it was clear to me that I had found my “college soulmate”. Prior to my epiphany, I had lacked enthusiasm about college as no school really seemed to understand me completely.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
