Essential aspects of intrinsic learning
One of the reasons I enrolled at UoPeople is because of the learning structure and learning environment. Though I too am a work in progress, I seek to define my own learning in many ways that are similar or the same as the “successful UoPeople student.” In my experience so far, the structure of UoPeople’s course and learning environments engage and encourage students to succeed through self-motivation.
From Yammer to Moodle, UoPeople’s learning structure seems to free students to become the best of self-learners:
• The Moodle interface system allows students to “[take] ownership of the learning process by setting personal educational goals, and monitoring their own progress.” (Gray, 2017).

My greatest perceived personal strengths, which include taking initiative and relentless persistence, don’t always overcome my perception of my own learning at a pace that matches my desire. My primary perceived weaknesses, which include setting a realistic pace and a realistic scope or scale (both for myself, but especially my learning experience), often hinder my strengths. • Instead of allowing each challenge to commandeer my initiative or persistence, I can look for the opportunity that enables the next “rung” in the ladder.

• Instead of allowing my self-confidence to evaporate in the heat of each problem, I can trust in the humility of past learning acquired and rest in the confidence that I can risk mistakes without jeopardy to my true self.
