Everyone have their own roles in their family, and most of their roles might be similar to another’s family when they are in the same society. On the other hand, family roles in developed countries and developing countries are totally different because of the culture, condition, and the environment. Family size is one of the differences that we all noticed between United States and Thailand. As we can see today United States is one of the developed countries and the size of the family has decreased more than before; however, in some families they love to have a lot of kids as much as they can. Another common difference of family roles between United States and Thailand is independent thinking. Thailand and the United States have unlike situations in thinking about a family. Back in the old time, all of the family members in Thailand had to follow the way of living from their parents because of the culture. Everyone had to believe what their parents believed, and they absolutely couldn’t refuse it anyway. Although some children didn’t really like what their parents believed in old cultures, and old cultural religions, they usually followed them since when they were young. Today, the old culture and cultural religion have started to disappear in the family because of the standard of living today, the country is developing in many ways, and the new education today. Somehow in some families, the children still have to follow their parents’ religion and old cultures. In the United States, they don’t have old cultures, and cultural religions so the children can choose their own choice and live safely in the family.
