The nurse client relationship is one in which embodies the concept of trust, respect, empathy and professional intimacy (College of Nurses of Ontario, 2006). This type of relationship is not restricted to just the client in the nursing profession. SOLER stands for squarely, open, lean, eye and relax (Soler reference). Throughout the interview session between the student nurse and his fellow peer nurse named Debra. The student nurse consistently demonstrated strong soler techniques consistently throughout the session. At the start of the video approximately at 00:17 you can see the student nurse adjust himself into a comfortable position, one in which shows a focused onto Debra, which demonstrates the student nurses active listening and focus. The student nurse also demonstrates excellent body posture. His hands are locked together, as well as has his legs open which demonstrates he is open and attentive to the conversation, unlike having his arms and legs crossed, which demonstrates a lack of focus. At 00:17 consistently through the entirety of the interview you can see the student nurse begin to lean forward which shows his attentiveness and focus on Debra. While leaning forward you can see the student nurse have complete eye contact with Debra never loosing focus on the topic at hand and keeping attentive to her concerns. Relax is the last soler technique.
