That Y equals more than $20 million a year in salary.”(Woods, 2012) The issue that I’m investigating is the salary difference between NBA players and WNBA players. I’m investigating this topic to see what everyone thinks about the salary difference, seeing as NBA players are paid just under 7 times as more as the WNBA players for one season of basketball. This issue occurs in most high level sports with the females being paid less than the males. The NBA and WNBA salary from my point of view is ridiculously unfair. There is no reason why the Male’s should be paid more than the female’s. Just because the females can’t slam dunk or alley-oop doesn’t mean they’re not as good as the males, females play just as hard as the men do and deserve equal salaries. In the NBA league there are 30 teams and this year on average 17,809 spectators come to watch whereas the average spectator rate for WNBA is 7,452 an they only have 12 teams in the league. In some cases I understand that people don’t go to watch the WNBA because it’s ‘boring’ and it’s ‘not as good to watch’ but then at the same time I don’t understand because if WNBA players were given as much money as the NBA players then maybe they would be able to get some better coaches to develop them more as basketball players and teach them the same techniques and drills that they teach the NBA players, because women’s development isn’t even close to what the men
