Was the assassination of Abraham Lincoln just or unjust? Lincoln, before his presidential terms was elected to the lower house of congress, caught interest in politics and decided to run for president of the United States. The assassination of Abraham Lincoln was unjust because he was a confident, strong opinionated president for the positive change in abolishment in slavery during the civil war; however ,minority of people could have felt slavery was needed in the South. Abraham Lincoln’s assassination was unjust because he was a strong president working for change in slavery in the South. Lincoln’s speeches and acts showed the people he was strong. His speech, “The Gettysburg Address” was a strong speech about the honor of the fighters and the freedom of our nation. Some may disagree, some believe that men were not created equal, that some should die in vain, that’s preserving the union is not worthy ( Lincoln 1). Lincoln was a lot of things but he was mainly confident. He was confident in the change in slavery and what he strived to achieve as the President. Lincoln spoke a 701 word brief speech for his second Inaugural Address. This speech stated the sin of slavery and punishment of it in a the best way of stating it confidently(Lincoln 1). This could have been a possible explanation for his assassination due to the fact that a month after his death this speech was copied and printed as a big deal. This speech was a main focus after and before his death , a powerful interest in supporters and the ones who did not support.
