2. Add 8cm³ of sodium carbonate to each tube using a measuring cylinder. 3. Measure out the strontium nitrate for each boiling tube and add it (boiling tube 1 contains 1cm³, test tube 2 contains 2cm³ and so on). 4.
Question 1. The first step I am going to take as the new safety manager of Dosit to bring them up to compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard would be to conduct an extensive chemical inventory check. The current chemical inventory list of 780 chemicals is over two years old and is outdated by a year. Periodic chemical inventory audits should be done at least once a year(David Fender,2012).
Step 2: Mix both test tubes , shake gently and time the reaction. Step 3: The same step as procedure 1, and step 3 which is to record the observed color step 4: use the palette/color chart to help you identify the observations you make. Safety precautions: Pull your hair back Safety eye goggles Closed toe
Summary Recently a group of therapist administered the SAFER v. 3 to assess MM’s safety in her two-story home in Blue Bell, PA. After completing the assessment it was determined that MM has several areas that were deemed either “mild” or “moderate” problem areas. Much of this has to do with her intellectual disabilities or her mild CP, which causes her to toe walk. Of note, however, is the face that MM lives with her two parents and has an aide that comes to her home four times a week.
The lab starts with me being able to choose from four different environments that I want to put my organisms in. I also get to choose one of the four different allele frequencies that are allowed. I can mix and match the environment and frequencies however I want to. After picking an environment and a frequency, I then am able to move one generation forward. When I move a generation forward, the allele frequency will change.
To do the temperature and dissolved oxygen tests, stick the probe in the water, and it will show numbers. One will be the dissolved oxygen in ppm (parts per million) and the other will be the temperature of the water. To do the pH test, stick the pH paper in the water and compare the color it turns to the scale. To test nitrates, put clear water in a container and dirty water in another, and put powder in them. Shake them and then compare the color they turn to the scale.
The experiment overall was nicely conducted, and results were found through the information gathered. The dependent variable was established very quickly; furthermore, we can find the dependent variable was whether the athletes played a contact sport or a sport like baseball, where most concussions come from being hit by the ball. The independent variable is the number of concussions the test subjects obtained. Ultimately they could not control how many concussions each individual obtained but they controlled which individuals were chosen and what test were ran. The results that ran throughout the whole experiment was an overall success, the results show that multiple compared to single occurring concussions do not have an effect on P3 suppression.
Woodlawn Beach School News Lab safety violation results in 5 day suspension Today in Mrs. Schroeder’s 1st period science class John Doe violated lab safety precaution numbers 20 and 11; When the class was using Bunsen burners John’s clothes caught on fire! Safety rule number 20 states, “That no loose fitting clothing or jewelry may be worn.” To add to his troubles John did not report the fire to the teacher but try to put it out himself. Thus violating rule number 11 which states to report all spills, fires etc.
Friction 1. Prevents your soccer ball from going forward forever when it is kicked. The soccer ball rubs against the ground, which causes resistance and slows the ball down this can cause the ball from not going into the goal. 2. Sliding friction pushes against an object when that object that is moving but not leaving the ground.
the objective function was Equation (1-4). The goal of this optimization was to achieve a situation of independent variables (field strength, retention time, power of ultrasound and sonication time), in which with the lowest energy consumption, the amount of E. coli in the sample is equal to zero. Boundary conditions specified in optimization was that the values of the independent variables are in the range of the experiment. All independent and dependent variables by reason of the same importance, the weight of one was given, and at the end, minimizing the value of the objective function was selected (Table 4-2). The optimum values for field strength, retention time, power of ultrasound and sonication time were equal to 10 kv/cm, 35s, 185.90 w, 4.47 min, respectively.
Do the same for the other test tubes. Let the test tubes not be disturbed for about 3- 4 mins. Then add the Amylase solution to the Starch solution and start the stopwatch (immediately). After every 1 min take one drop from the test tubes and place then in the test plate that were
Polyester is synthetic fiber which mainly derive organic chemical compound from coal, air, water and petroleum and have the ester linkage. According to How (2015), the chemical reaction between an acid and alcohol formed polyester where a combination of two or more molecules form large molecule whose the structure repeats throughout its length. Researched by Smith (n.d) mentioned that production of polyester is by the chemical reaction of ethylene glycol with either terephthalic acid or its methyl ester in the presence of antimony catalyst to produce initially the monomer and low molecular mass oligomers. i. Starting from the acid: Direct esterification reaction.
Ditch the Body Imagine never having to take care of our bodies again. In “Unready to Wear,” written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., this is possible. People become amphibious by leaving their bodies and existing with only a mind. The story is in the perspective of a man who left his body, and how he and his wife live their unusual life.
I. Introduction The purpose of this lab was to observe and record the bending stress and elastic properties multiple materials. A three-point bend is when a force is applied to the center of an object while it is supported on each side. This experiment was performed to record each material's flexural behavior so applications can be made with appropriate materials. The objective was to calculate the elastic modulus for each material tested. II.
