Growing up in the south and west coast areas, there is a wide variety of healthy food stores to choose from, however unbeknownst to individuals outside of the east coast, is a private gem called Wegmans. An industry leader that is part organic food store, part supermarket, and part gourmet restaurant Wegmans dedicates itself to its employees as well as the quality of its product. There are many characteristics that make Wegmans highly compelling to unaware people as myself, such as their own organic farm, their unique three year internship program, and it’s spot on Forbes Magazine’s best places to work. Established in 2007, Wegmans organic farm in upstate New York was forged in order to inspire its current suppliers to begin to develop its produce organically (“Wegmans Invests”, 2011).
