Welfare Recipients should be drug tested. Welfare is a public assistance program designed to help people who are not able to support themselves at the given time. The Welfare Information site states that welfare can also be defined as a financial assistance to impoverished individuals which is suppled through the taxes paid by the working class. This means that welfare improves the quality of life and how the poor and underprivileged live. If a person isn’t receiving any income, or their income is very low, they are usually eligible for welfare. It provides a minimum amount of financial assistance. The financial assistance comes through the social security taxes that are deducted from the working class’s paychecks. There are many different types of welfare. If someone test positive for some kind of illegal drug, it could be the first step to looking to getting them the help that is needed. Knowing that your aid depended on your ability to provide whatever necessary to pass a drug test, the recipients are more than likely to stay clean. It might also give them a little more of an incentive to know they can’t live and continue doing what they’re doing. That would lead to them maybe even trying to further their education so they can get a better job. A result of that would eventually lead to the need for the assistance, reducing some. I am held responsible for my actions in this community. I commit a crime, I go to court and receive whatever consequence is decided. Whether it be a slap on the wrist or it be something more severe. If I decide to buy a car, or a phone, or anything that requires monthly payments to keep going, I am responsible to keep a job so I can honestly pay my bills on time. I do not expect to live top of the line, but not be willing to put in the time and effort to be able to have that life
