Through their investigations they can also discover how the victim may have died and other important background information that can move the investigation further in solving the case. As a community nutritionist, I developed a feel and confidence for how to educate and counsel community members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe as part of the Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Program. I am a Native American and part of this tribe and therefore was so enthused to be part of their health care team. Being fresh out of college and given only a vague idea of the expectations of the position, I gathered all my available resources and set about the task of independently creating a successful education and counseling program. As I learned the ropes and increased my knowledge base, I felt the need to develop healthy cooking classes for my clients. The goal was to show my clients how to cook delicious, affordable and nutrient dense meals while catering to their specific culture preferences.
Even those who did not solely eat processed and high calorie foods still were not educated on how nutritious foods were for their bodies. It was commonly thought that nutrition was only something that impoverished and starving communities had to focus on, yet the obesity epidemic was formed partially because so many people did not know what affects the food they consumed had on their bodies. Since there was no previous nutritional education that the people of Guatemala received, groups such as INCAP worked to educate and provide for such communities. Schools had nutrition education courses, obesity clinics provided information on nutrients and minerals necessary to keep the body working. ‘Health promotion means to have a positive attitude in the setting to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.’ One way children’s well-being can be supported by health promotion in the setting is by snack time. During snack time and lunch in my setting they have health foods which they encourage all children to eat. The setting provides balanced and healthy meals for the children. By giving children healthy meals and snacks it sets a good example and teaches children what they should be eating.
Competency Statement 1: To establish a safe, healthy learning environment When you are an Early Childhood educator there are some key factors that you have to keep in mind: 1. Creating a safe environment and 2. Creating and instilling in your students and yourself a healthy environment. Safety to me is a very detrimental factor in Early Childhood, because when you deal with young children you always have to watch out for their well being as if they were your own.
His delivered with such a persuasion that caused me to understand, in a deeper sense, the devastation and deaths that caused by not having a healthy food diet. Jamie delivered his presentation with power and conviction as he acknowledges that he was not an American citizen; but he loved this nation and like the audience, he had children that should know the facts about food choices and how it affects longevity. He had statistic that identified the ranking of diseases that cause health problems and death due to unhealthy eating. Also, he displayed individuals who were obsessed and showed the type food they ate and also were feeding their family. Jamie persuaded and shared his vision by giving real time example of processes that can be used to obtain funds for education students in the school system; he stated that an additional $6000 is all that is required to support school programs to teach students healthy eating habits.
Recently, Moreno Valley High School won a Silver Award for best high school in the nation. Although its been criticized as “ghetto” and “where all the bad kids go”, the students and staff still show pride for proving the critics wrong but, with all its success a bigger problem has emerged on campus. Disease, the food prepared and served to the student ‘s of Moreno Valley High School is not what you would call a “healthy meal”. As data collected through an online server shown many students and even parents have no clue what a nutritional meal is.
Today, On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, I attended a beginning of the school year healthcare meeting. The annual meeting was conducted by one of the school nurses and it included all of the second grade teachers. Before today’s meeting I had never attended a health care meeting, but I certainly knew of the importance of having a good relationship and communication between school nurses and educators. A teacher’s responsibility includes so many variables including and foremost a student’s care and safety. Additionally, School nurses help educators in ensuring and caring for student’s and their healthcare needs.

We know that for populations like children and seniors, a balanced diet can be particularly essential to succeeding in school, complementing medication and battling disease. Unfortunately, nutrition-related illnesses disproportionately affect food-insecure people. I joined and participated in health promotion program offered at the University of Texas at San Antonio. It was named UTSA’S Rowdy Wellness Health Fair. It occurred today Wednesday, November 9th from 10am – 2pm located in the Sombrilla. The purpose of this program was to promote health and wellness to UTSA community.
I combined how your nutrition is important because it can prevent you from getting sick or becoming overweight and suffering. Lack of nutrition education, marketing persuading consumers to want harmful food, and the healthcare system not being effective all have to deal with why healthy nutrition is not being focused on or accomplished. This topic is important and interesting if you are interested in global healthcare or local healthcare. Each one of the problems can be solved or reduced to focus on the human nutrition or to decrease the rate of deaths due to obesity, heart failures, etc. The research and the 7-step plan, promoting healthier food options, and reduction of pills and helping patients learn about nutrition are all ways to improve the lack of
The wellness of a human being has been broken down into five sections. These sections are: emotional wellness, intellectual wellness, physical wellness, social wellness and spiritual wellness. I think my strongest section for my personal wellness is my emotion, intellect and physical wellness. However, my weakest sections are social wellness and spiritual wellness. I believe that my emotional wellness is my strongest section.

Since my afterschool program was so impactful in exposing me to healthy and nutritious food options I want to make sure I provided the same thing to my program. I have been influential in developing and implementing a health and wellness policy to ensure nutrition education and physical education is a top program initiative. Growing up as a latchkey kid was hard and I was not provided the right health and wellness care I needed. Afterschool has been a big part in my development and drove me to the man I am today.
