Starting off this essay I will be talking about the similarities between The State Constitution and the U.S Consitution. First, The State Constitution resembles the federal Constitution because they both outlined the state government's structure of executive, legislative and judicial branches. Now if were talking my actual state (Minnesota) Then they are similar in terms of having a preamble where an introduction to the document is seen. Also both the MN and US constitutions have a bill of rights where the legal rights of citizens are listed. A difference is the Bill of Rights, which has a larger list in the MN constitution in comparison to the federal one. The Minnesota Constitution protects rights of people's freedom, equality, free press, private property, and more that I dont even know. State constitutions are longer and more detailed than the U.S.Constitution, and their bill of rights ofter include new and expanded rights not talked about in the U.S. Constitution. People want to feel free yet not controlled. The constitution was a way to show people that their is a greater power surrounding us but not trapping us in a way that isnt preferred.
