In this paper, I will be going over some of Willie Nelson’s accomplishments, his struggles, and how he got started. Willie Nelson is a country solo artist who makes songs for multiple things, including movies. He does some songs on stage, while just records others. He has won multiple Grammy’s. Born Apr. 30, 1933 in Abbott Texas. Nelson started playing guitar at age six. In his early teens, he was earning pocket money in dance halls, beer joints, and honky-tonks [a cheap or disreputable bar, club, or dance hall]. When employed by KVAN, a radio station, in Vancouver, Washington, he made his first recording on a commercial, "No Place for Me," in 1957. He released it under his own label.
In the late '70s, continuing to record, Willie assessed roles such as The Electric Horseman (1979) and Honeysuckle Rose (1980). He wrote and performed “On the Road Again,” in Honeysuckle Rose. It was nominated for an Oscar and won a Grammy as best country song.In the mid-1970s, "outlaw" country music was popular, Nelson at the forefront of the trend. Red Headed Stranger (1975) eventually sold more than 2 million copies. The Outlaws (1976) was a hit along with Waylon & Willie (1978). Willie Nelson was one of the first country artists to write and perform their own songs, successfully. He spent a decade making songs for others before he recorded his own series of solo albums in the 1970s. Influenced by jazz and pop as by country. Near the end of the 90s, financial and personal burdens of Nelson's had calmed and he was among the most honored American musicians of
