Cause of the american revolution The American Revolution was caused by the events which harmed the relationship between Great Britain and the Colonist. What mainly caused the American revolution? What was the American revolutionary war? Well, it began in 1775-1783 it was a significant war for independence from the British empire. It was a disagreement between 13 American colonies and the Great Britain. They were fighting for independence. American colonies were found by people trying to escape religion. The British ruled for taxed by people not moving in their land and gain independence. They had different things they were fighting for they were fighting more than just independence they were also fighting because the colonist didn't want to pay taxation.
