Joseph Boyden’s novel Three Day Road demonstrates how effective betrayal is at destroying our hopes and beliefs. Both brief relationships involved a coming together of the two races and both of them ended in disappointment for Niska and Xavier, but not necessarily for the trapper or Lisette. Niska is betrayed by the French fur trader, a betrayal that echoes the betrayal of indigenous groups by the first colonists. The French man reveals to Niska,” [He] took [her] ahcahk,” (Boyden 174).

From, Addie having an affair to most of her family travelling to Jefferson for selfish reasons. The Bundren family is a lying and selfish family. In the book Sula, there are many times that the main characters get betrayed even by the people they trust the most. The story shows you that you can't just trust anyone, even if you guys are super close they can still end up betraying you. One betrayal in the story that involved both the main characters was when BoyBoy left Eva, his wife, leaving her to take care of their three children alone. Even though BoyBoy left Eva with nothing, she made it work and the betrayals in this book made the story more interesting and more emotional. Not only this, another betrayal that happened was when Sula slept with Nel’s husband and when Sula sent her grandmother away to a nursing home.
Betrayal is seen when Amir cares more about attention than his own friendships. Betrayal is also seen when Baba feels that his son Amir will never be good enough. In contrast, one character who never shows betrayal is Hasssan. In The Kite Runner, Amir and Baba engage in the act of betrayal however Hassan never betrays.
The book shows many aspect of betrayals happened to the characters in the story. Linda, whitey, Geraldine -Joe’s mother-, and Joe, each one of them had exposure to betrayal in their own way. However Joe -the main character- in the story faced many of betrayals from his father or the tribal authorities. Those betrayals had influenced in his actions and behaviors.
It has a huge affect on peoples feelings and Morales. This puts you in a bad position. You have to make a decision to how you will deal with this problem. I recall when I got betrayed by my close friend. We were eating lunch and my friend leaves me so sit with somebody else.
