Ricky kurihara Veterans day What does freedom mean to you? For me it means being able to live my life without being attacked. Veterans are very brave people that fought for our flag and our freedom. Freedom means being free and being able to do certain things like going to the store to get things that I want and being able to do things outside without a big war.
According to dictionary.com, freedom means “political or national independents”, but in reality it means much more than that. During the revolutionary war, four thousand four hundred and thirty-five lives were lost in order to gain independence and freedom for all Americans. I believe that freedom means that people can express themselves however they want and that they can make decisions for themselves. I think that this is true because people can choose their religion, have the freedom of speech, and can stand up for what they believe is right. Freedom of religion was part of the First Amendment to the Declaration of Independence, which means that people are able to choose their religion and can freely worship.
As a United States citizen, I am unaware to the harsh circumstances my peers of other nations must endure. I can honestly state that I do not know what it is like to fear a government. Living in the United States has provided me freedom to trust that my government strives for the continuing establishment of liberty for each individual person. I appreciate everything our soldiers have done for the United States in the past and in present times because if it were not for them, the lives that we have today would not be the same. Freedom is the right to remember all of those who have sacrificed their lives for how we live now.
Freedom is the ability to love whomever we want, It is when you give without expecting a favor, It is the power to forgive when you've been mistaken, it is the capability to do right without being proud of it. To me Freedom is America, Freedom is the 13 horizontal stripes and the 50 stars waving in the wind, and finally Freedom is for everyone to be equal, yet different in his or her own way. Freedom to me is America, as simple as that. On July 4th, 1776 America gained freedom from Great Britain, for this is one of the most important dates in American history.
Ever wondered why freedom is so important to America? Why we need freedom and why some people take advantage of it? Or why we have rules with the freedom we have? Freedom to me isn’t just a word, it’s a way of life that everybody uses, sure, all people are unique but freedom is the one thing that makes us all the same, as equals and individuals.
True freedom is without obstruction or restraint yet there are ways in which freedom leads to restraint. Many advances and opportunities gave rise during 1865 and 1910 in America along with it came a sense of freedom for the people who migrated or resigned there. People like Jurgis had the freedom to work, earned money, and own a home of their own, but in all reality they were not free but trapped by the very things that they had the freedom to obtain. Industrialization was a big thing in The United States and everyone wanted to be part of it immigrants like Jurgis would leave their home lands and travel to the city where there was said to be an abundance of jobs and opportunities.
The idea of America is freedom over life, liberty, and equality for the pursuit of happiness. According to the Merriam Webster’s Dictionary; freedom means the quality or state of being free. Liberty means the state or condition of people who are able to act and speak freely. Equality means the quality or state of being equal; the quality or state of having the same rights or social status. The following paragraphs will show support for these ideas, starting with freedom.
Freedom, the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. Do you want to know what freedom means to me. To me freedom means that you can do what you want. For an example the right bare arms, freedom of speech, and much more. Did you know in many countries they don't have these rights?
America is a land of opportunity and freedom. Men and women had to sacrifice their lives for what we take for granted today. After this trip I have a very good idea of how powerful our country is now but with the power comes struggle and death. Our country started from a small group of will driven men and now we are the strongest country in the world thriving off of 325 million patriots. Over the last three hundred years many strong men and women have stepped up and led America to victory, our founding fathers are just a few men to broke through the struggle and inspired us to be brave and fight for our country.
Freedom can have many meetings to many people. Freedom to some may mean to be free in a trapped society filled with rules and regulations. Freedom can be revealed to the naked eye in things such as laws, organizations, and even clubs. Freedom to me is living your life however you choose, wherever you choose, and whenever you choose to do so. Angela Davis had once lost those privileges.

Most of people want to come to the United States because of the freedom in this country. In their countries, they cannot discuss about their government, or they do not have the right to join in religion that they like.

Americans are obsessed with personal freedom. Personal freedom is so important to them that they are often unwilling to take the necessary measures to protect that freedom. If security measures go against their principles of freedom they would rather take the risks then compromise this sense of liberty. As an example, having a security guard at an airport or store empty the contents of one’s bag or pockets offends most American’s sense of personal freedom.
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.
