Integrity is defined as obedience and loyalty to a moral code which is reflected in how one thinks and acts (BusinessDictionary.com, 2015). What would integrity mean to me as a professional? I would say that integrity is about being honest in everything you do. I believe that even if I do not personally do something that would question my integrity as a person and that if I keep silent about witnessing someone else who has done something questionable like accepting a bribe; my own integrity will be questioned. In the case of Bazerman (2014), he being approached by a DOJ legal team member to alter his statement was a form of corruption on their part. She was working with Starbucks as a barista and after I gave my order she told me she was just going to sign off work then join me for a drink. As she went out back, I looked around me and saw that besides me there was only an elderly lady and a young couple present and they were occupied with themselves. Something had me looking back at the cashier. I found him fidgeting and glancing behind his back and around him a few times before he opened the till took some cash out and shoved it into his pocket. I was stunned and that’s how my friend found me. I thought for a moment before informing her of what I witnessed. Now the thing you need to know about this friend is that brutal honesty is her style. Friend or not she will not cover away from confronting you if she suspects you were doing something wrong which was why it was no surprise when she went up to him and asked him to empty his pockets. He refused to at first which led to her hollering for her manager to come to the front. My friend quickly explained to her manager what I saw and his refusal to comply and prove it was just a misunderstanding. The cashier claimed we were both lying and that he did not take anything and the manager asked him to prove us wrong by emptying his pockets. Seeing no way out and with a resigned face he finally took out everything he had in his pocket amongst which was almost 50 ringgit worth
