Coming from an all-girl’s, private, Catholic high school, the phrase “like a girl” has never phased me personally. I surrounded myself with women who intrinsically felt privileged to be a girl, and while I never got caught up in the extreme feminism that infiltrated my high school, I was aided in understanding the value of being a girl. Presently, women are constantly trying to act a certain way in order to fit the ideal vision for them. This idyllic mold causes countless girls to change who they are and instead, get caught up in the mundane casts of society. I have experienced the negative stigma that revolves feminism firsthand. Throughout high school, there was no shortage of the unshaven, man-hating, “free the nipple” feminists, and naturally I developed a slight distaste to their audacious way of expressing themselves. However, as I began to open my ears and eyes to what they were fighting for and I embraced their cause without the truculent way of going about it. Always understands this dilemma that surrounds feminism and decided to revamp the powerful ideas that go along with merely just the term “feminism” and instead take the
