“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You 're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who 'll decide where to go.” Dr. Seuss. OLG has taught me many important lessons that have prepared me for high school. I’m thankful for the values OLG has taught me. I have received a great education and an understanding of my religion that has readied me for an amazing high school career and later a great life. One of the most important values OLG has taught me is to accept everyone because we are all equal in God’s eyes. OLG has a very diverse student population that has introduced me to many different cultures and religions. In the real world, we are not all going to look or act the same. God made each of us different! I was taught to accept those different than me because everyone deserves respect. When I’m older I want to be in the medical field. This will involve meeting many culturally diverse people to reach a common goal- curing a disease. I will judge people based on the content of their ideas not by their race or gender. OLG offers many activities to help you find your passion. I have enjoyed the arts programs like Drama Club and Art Journaling. Mrs. Renick always challenges me to create something unique and to tell a story that hasn’t been told. Though the arts programs have helped me think creatively, so has the way classes are taught. Teachers use many hands-on techniques to help us learn. We are given assignments that challenge us to think innovatively.
