What Effects do Mind Altering Drugs have on People

Why don’t people who use drugs realize what negative effects the things they are doing have on their body? Well that’s just it, they don’t realize because drugs do very terrible things to the human body. Drugs can make the user do many things they don’t want to. The beginning use of drugs can eventually lead to addiction. Drugs tear apart families, destroy the brain, and effectively destroy lives.

Drugs are chemicals that make changes to the makeup of the human body. The brain is the master control center of the body and it sends messages to the rest of the body based on the signals that it gets from chemical messengers, or drugs. Most of the chemical messengers are made in the body to do specific jobs in the brain. But drugs, which aren’t made by the body, are chemical messengers that can send the wrong messages to the brain, which then sends the wrong signals to the body. In essence, if the brain gets the wrong messages from drugs, you can end up seeing or hearing things that aren’t real, feeling things that aren’t there, or doing things that you wouldn’t normally do. Drugs can make your heart beat faster, your body move slower, your throat feel dry, your pupils get bigger, and can make you breathe too fast or too slow.
