What I Learned About Myself At The College Of Education

College has taught me a lot about myself. It has taught me who I am, what I value, and more importantly, where do I see myself in the future. All of those things I learned about myself brought me to the College of Education and I couldn’t be more excited to see where I go. A lot of the opportunities I’ve received here were things I didn’t expect. Where I come from, most high school graduates stay home and go to our local college and work or begin a family. I knew that lifestyle wasn’t for me. I knew I wanted to become a teacher and I knew that the best opportunities could be provided here.
When I was young, I really connected with a teacher in first grade. She was my second mother and was one of the reasons I became a teacher. She was the epitome of the teacher I want to be: kind, passionate, and dependable. Now looking back, I realized she has taught me a few things that I want to achieve when I become a teacher. I want to be able to support my students through their challenging academic careers, and give them a voice. These two goals have only grown since my years here.

I want to be able to share the reason why I believe the College of Education is the best and how joining this college will impact their lives in a good way. I also plan on continuing to work within the Education College Council to produce gatherings for education students such as the graduate research symposium, or the fall welcome event in which all education students come to meet. Lastly, I plan on joining Kappa Delta Pi in the fall to join an organization in which I can have like-minded peers help me become a more suitable teacher in the
