In the movie “Dead Poets Society,” the boys have a very sad relationship with their parents. This is exemplified, and delved deepest, with Neil Perry, who commits suicide toward the end. It is a sad story, and it shows how disconnected the boys’ parents are from their sons. An example of such a relationship is Neil Perry and Mr. Perry, his dad. Neil feels a strong calling to become an actor, one that he wishes desperately to heed. However, his father, Mr. Perry, wants one thing for his son: for his son to become a wealthy, well-educated doctor.
