What Is Slurry Energy Pipelines?

Coal pipelines are pipelines that are used to transport coal from where it is mined to the place where it is to be used.
Usage of coal pipelines:
These pipelines are used to carry coal from one place to other. In order to transport coal for short distances, large trucks are used to transport coal.
To transport coal for long distance, trains and barges are used. We have some cases where using coal pipeline to move coal from one place to other is more economical than by using train or barge. This is the only way when we have no railway transport or waterway to transport the coal or when it is to be moved for very long distances.
Types of coal pipelines:

The mixture is called slurry. The ratio of coal to water to make slurry is about 1 to 1 by weight.
Slurry pipeline: A slurry pipeline is a special type pipeline which is designed to move different ores. This pipeline is a specially designed engineered pipeline. This pipeline is used to move ores, such as coal, iron or mining waste over long distances.
History:
Slurry pipeline has been used for long time. Some of the first modern slurry pipelines include the Ohio 'Consolidation' coal slurry pipeline (1957) and the Kensworth to Rugby limestone slurry pipeline which was designed in 1965 [2]. In Australia, Tasmania, the 85kilometer Savage River Slurry pipeline is considered to be the worlds first slurry pipeline to transport iron ore. This pipeline is considered to be built in 1967 [3][4]. The construction of this pipeline includes a bridge having length of 366m at 167m above the Savage River. The pipeline carries iron ore slurry from the Savage River open cut which is the property of Australian Bulk Minerals and was working till 2011 but has been closed now.
Process:
A concentrated amount of the ore is mixed with water to make slurry and then pumped over a long distance to a port from the place where it can be
