With her innovations and ideas, she has changed the agricultural world as we know it.
This is important due to the fact that she cheered people up even in the darkest of times. Temple had many nicknames; among them were “Little Colonel and Bright Eyes” (Kalb 1). It was clear that Temple was a welcoming and cheerful icon. Furthermore, during the Great Depression, Temple was surpassing a lot of other actors. Many people would say that Temple was “a beaming, precocious young girl who gladdened the hearts of millions” (Foster 5).
The People’s Temple was a religious movement founded by Reverend Jim Jones in the mid 1950’s. Reverend Jones initially came from a humble begining living with his poor family in Indiana. As Jones grew older he began attending meetings and rallies for the U.S. communist party. Due to ongoing fear of the spread of communism in the U.S. Jones was often harassed and ridiculed by both the government and the public for his political leanings. It wasn 't until the early 1950’s when Jones became increasingly involved in the sommerset southside methodist church in Indianapolis, Indiana when his real intentions began to take shape.

Partly as a result of this, came on a wave of organizations and cults, all with their own agendas. The People’s Temple was among these, ran by a former reverend, Jim Jones.
