Tim Hortons is the leading coffee brand in Canada and was founded by Tim Horton and Ron Joyce plus Ron Joyce was also the first franchise owner in 1967 (Our Story, 2018). It was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Tim Hortons has a total of 4748 restaurants worldwide, they are Canadas fifth most valuable brand at 3.9 million USD, they had the highest annual revenue in the past three years at 3.15 million USD (Tim Hortons - Statistics & Facts, 2018). They have the Tim Horton’s children’s foundation, Timbits minor sports program, Tims coffee truck, smile cookie, free skate, free swim, pitch in week, and remembrance day. Out of all these many initiatives the biggest and most important ones are the children’s foundation and the minor sports program. Tim Hortons Children’s foundation gives children the experience of camping away from home and families and supports the children in fun games, activities, and teaching them to be responsible, caring and be more motivated individuals (Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation, 2018). Tim Horton’s other main social initiative is the Timbits minor sports program. It’s a community oriented sponsorship for kids between the ages of four and nine to play hockey, cover, ringette, lacrosse, softball, and baseball (Timbits Minor Sports Program, 2018). Its meant for families that can’t afford to put their children through private sports program. Tim Hortons currently has 300,000 kids on many different team in different sport in Canada and the United States (Timbits Minor Sports Program, 2018).
