What Should Dr. Earles Receive Excellence And Innovation In Teaching Award?

Dr. Earles should receive the Excellence and Innovation in Teaching award because represents what every student wishes to find in a college professor. Her love for teaching can bee seen from the enthusiasm and positive energy she brings making every student want to learn the material. She explains complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand and retain. Being so engaged in the material, she draws her students in making the class fun and the time goes very fast. Because of her excellence in teaching, I am able to apply what she has taught me in other academic courses and in life. She encourages her students to ask questions and sets high expectations always challenging us to keep improving and dig deeper. Throughout the course, she quickly learned every student’s personal strengths and weaknesses allowing her to maximize our potential.

Earles makes her students feel comfortable to participate in her class building a small sense of community between my peers and I. Her wiliness to help all her students not only in her class but in other areas shows she has all her students best interest and puts us as one of her top priority. Research Methods being a difficult subject, I would go numerous times to Dr. Earles office where she would always be willing to help and patiently explain the material until I fully understood it by applying the concepts in different ways. In some instances, she would have me explain the material back to her in order to make sure I fully understood the concept before I left her office. She would often stay past her office hours and would not leave until she was completely sure that all my questions and concerns were answered. Even though at times, the material seemed too difficult to understand it holistically, she would encourage me to continue preserving and believed all her students could
