I am honored to be nominated for Crestwood’s National Honor Society for the 2017-2018 school year. I feel as if I use these four characteristics every day. Scholarship is something that I take for granted. When I think of school, I think it’s easy and all it takes is doing your homework to get good grades. I learned that you have to be motivated and tell yourself that you can do it. When I started High School, I thought it was going to be simple, but soon realized that my future plans depended on much more than just “doing” homework. If I wanted my future to go places, then I needed to apply myself and make the best out of my next four years at Crestwood. I got more involved and joined theater, speech and drama, which made me more outgoing and step out of my comfort zone. My skills show in my classes by setting a good example for others while still being laidback. My leadership shows through my character by giving people encouragement when they don’t believe in themselves. I like to help in any way I can as I don’t like seeing people struggle. I want them to feel better and be confident in who they are. If anyone tries to tell them different, you better bet I will be there to stick up for them. I feel I should be a part of the Crestwood National Honor Society because I have strong leadership and character skills that would be beneficial to the club. I like to be involved and involve everyone not just the people that are well known to the school. We all have lots to offer this great school of ours and I feel it takes every one of us to make it that way. You may have noticed that I do not have any silver cord hours’ present and you might find that to be strange, but I feel I have good
