Social media is loaded with tons of negative feedback. TikTok is a big issue with teenage girls because of the amount of influencers with perfect bodies and perfect lives. As a teenage girl, I know what it is like to feel like you're not good enough and I will admit that social media is one of the big reasons I am the way I am about myself today. We girls struggle with not feeling good enough and we all occasionally or even all the time compare ourselves to someone else and point out to ourselves why we could be prettier, smarter, skinnier, etc. Social media is a trap that lures young girls and destroys their confidence as a human being. Social media brings a lot of negative thoughts and negative behaviors to the world. I firmly believe that prohibiting social media for young children, tweens, and older teenagers is the right thing to do to protect our children. We must do better for the sake of our children.
