This book is about a older male named eddie.eddie learns that he had a meaning in life.Eddie works in maintenance at Ruby Pier,The ride freddy's free fall loses control and is hanging and going to dump out the riders.a little girl name annie is about to be crushed. eddie goes and saves her and dies when the cart falls on top of him.

The first person eddie meets in heaven is the Blue Man also known as Joseph Corvelzchik. The blue man is from eddie's childhood.the blue man was in the freak show on ruby pier.The blue man teaches eddie that there are no odd acts in life. A quote from the book is “People think of heaven as a paradise garden, a place where they can float on clouds and laze in rivers and mountains. But scenery without solace is meaningless. The third person eddie meets in heaven is ruby.Ruby helps him relieve the anger he feels toward his father. His father was a drunk.his father was violent and hurt eddie in many ways.she teaches him to forgive his father for the way that he hurt him when he was young.a quote from this is “In order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did and why you no longer need to feel it.” means to just forget what happened and forgive.
