The book When My Sister was Cleopatra Moon by Frances Park is about two sisters Marcy and Cleo Moon who are trying to survive the hardships of being a teenager. Marcy the younger sister, is viewed in the book as the less attractive, and less popular sister. Marcy has always looked up to her sister and has found ways to try and become, “socially acceptable” like Cleo. “Face it Marcy! You’re not an American teen! And you never will be!
