I enjoyed thinking about my future and discovering new bands and indie movies. My new life, with little to no friends, had transitioned from utterly depressing to undoubtedly bright. I propelled through their ignorance and tried out for the jazz band and the varsity baseball team. I made both of them and continued on my path for self-improvement and self-discovery. I had a great baseball season in which I made 2nd team all division and helped our team win sectionals.

After a year had gone by, I realized that I was very naturally good at lacrosse. I joined a club team, where I met my future mentor, Adam Rand. Adam was a professional lacrosse player who had retired and started up a youth club team with the focus of getting kids to a college level. He influenced the way I played lacrosse, by teaching me things about the sport of lacrosse. Adam had taught me a lot of life lessons as well: for example, when I got hit, he taught me how to get back up.
Lacrosse is a wonderful sport to play, lots of fun doing it and lots of fun being a fan too. From the mid-1490s, of just a stick and a net attached to the end and some trees as goals to today's version of playing Lacrosse, it’s all the same sport. What I already know: Lacrosse has been around for decades, played by those who look for a real sport. It’s been said to be the fastest game on two feet, which is no understatement. It requires strength, endurance, and heart to be able to play the game of lacrosse. All these reasons are why I love to play lacrosse and why it has been my favorite sport for years. I can remember when I first started back in second grade, I didn’t think about why I was playing, it was just another sport to me.
Lacrosse has been part of my life since before I was even born. My mother, uncle, and cousins played, so it was only natural that I picked up a stick as well. I started playing at a young age and am grateful to have the opportunity to continue playing now at the collegiate level. However, for all the time that I have spent competing in the sport, there is another, more unique side to the game that I am also quite experienced in. I began refereeing for youth players in early high school and have continued to this day.

Starting at the young age of 11, I played soccer for most of my childhood years and as time went on I grew less and less fond of it. Once I started to discover Lacrosse and get familiar with it, there was a tryout for a small travel team called True Lacrosse. This team would later be considered family to me. I was substandard at the time and when I went to tryouts it was something I thought I guess I wanted to do. After I went to tryouts I came home really wanting to make the team at first.
One activity that has defiantly created a change in my life is ice hockey. I’ve been playing hockey since I was seven years old. I know that playing hockey has changed my life is because it’s taught me time management, responsibility, discipline, and physical conditioning. One way that hockey has changed my life is it’s made me manage my time better. Every week and weekend I usually have practice on Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Through hard work and dedication, I quickly began to excel in hockey, but to me, hockey wasn't about winning, in my mind it about making it to the NHL and coming together as a team. Yet one of those things was worse than I thought. I joined a league where I could play and make friends, while we all worked towards the same goal. From that point on I moved higher in the divisions, trying to create what I thought was a capable future of sports.
The sport of lacrosse is a fast action, rapid paced game involving loads of running and precision movements. Playing lacrosse is my favorite sport because, it brings together my friends and me, it keeps me in stay shape, and keeps me disciplined and motivated for school. Every lacrosse practice brings together a massive group of friends to a place where we can be ourselves, and cherish an extravagant game. At school I never get to be myself fully, however out on the field surrounded by teammates, I can be myself and not worry about anybody judging me or putting me down.
Throughout my life I have come from and created a few identities for myself.
