There are many important characters in the book The Crucible. But there are three characters that you might be able to say that they are changed after all the witch talk is over. There are other characters that were left different than how they came into the story. For example Rev. Hale came to town a young man with the knowledge of the spiritual world and the devil, god all the witch stuff as well. The three characters that can be proven where most effected or maybe even most involve.
Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible in 1953. Arthur Miller wrote the play because he was inspired by McCarthyism. McCarthyism was the hunt for communists that was taken too far. In The Crucible he presented a universal message. He was comparing how communists did exist and witches did not, but yet they were both taken as serious.
The play The Crucible focuses on John Proctor, Abigail Williams, and Elizabeth Proctor and what they go through as a result of the Salem Witch Trials in the Massachusetts Bay Colony from 1692-93. Abigail Williams is found participating in dancing in the woods, and is then as a result suspected of witchcraft. The Reverend Parris found her and other young girls dancing in the woods, including his own daughter Betty. Tituba is brought in and confesses that they were dancing with the devil and accuses many girls with being involved in witchcraft. Later on, as John and Elizabeth Proctor argue over Abigail Williams, who John had an affair with at one point, Elizabeth is also suspected of witchcraft, leaving John Proctor with two women he’s been involved

She is responsible for most of the deaths in Salem. Abigail is a beautiful, 17 year old orphan, also niece of Reverend Parris. Abigail Williams is a very selfish and manipulative person; she teaches us that lying is only harmful for one’s self.
Abigail Williams, It is all her fault with her having the affair with John Proctor, It is not all John's fault that the afrie happen it's Abigail's fault that it happen. Abby is the reason that John slept with her, she seduced him into cheating on his wife with her. If Abby did not work for John and goodly Proctor want happen wouldn't of happen to the town and everything would be fine. In Salem at the time it was a modest town brimming with Puritans. In the town of Salem, little secrets, jealousy and massive hysteria spread around the town.
Gross corruption is when somebody is willing to procure anything out of greed or selfishness to gain money and power. One of many examples from “The Crucible” is Abigail Williams, Reverend Parris’s niece, she wants to be with John Proctor, but she is willing to anything to get rid of his wife, Elizabeth Proctor. Out of envy, Abigail accused Elizabeth of witchcraft, knowing that Goody Proctor would be executed. Envy is one of the toxins in our society today, and my assumption to get rid of envy is to praise each other, and be more grateful for what we possessed. Instead of bring another person down, bring yourself up, and work harder.
In the Crucible, by Arthur Miller, the witch trials killed many innocent people. People were accused of being witches, and if they didn’t admit it they were hung. If a sin was made in the highly Christian Puritan society, people were hung. At different parts in the play, the characters could have stopped the trials from with evidence that proves them innocent. However, since there was power on the line and the awkwardness of some of the characters, the trials were not stopped before the deaths of many.
In the past during the Salem witch trials people weaponized the fact that courts would kill someone just for being accused. in the crucible by Arthur miller the characters always were dead set on witchcraft. If anyone ever said that you were practicing witchcraft you were integrated almost immediately, sometimes even whipped even with little to no evidence. But in all of this there were characters that were extremely targeted just because someone in power didn’t like them or just because they were jealous , here are some examples of characters that were targeted. In the play, the characters weaponize the witch trials to use against people they’re jealous of or simply for the fact they just don’t like them.
Abigail Williams In the play "The Crucibles" by Arthur Miller, Abigail Williams was not such a good Puritan woman. She was a very young and gorgeous women but had sinned a lot against her Puritan religion. Abigail definitely did not make the right decisions for herself. She is an magnificent liar and tends to get others in trouble to save herself from getting caught.
Adolescent minds are the most intelligent kind of mind. A young brain is filled with creativity, imagination and innocence. Though the thought process of a teen is assumed to be selfish there are other factors involved. A combination of these characteristics seems almost dangerous. One would undermine a juvenile to use these qualities to manipulate the court for their own selfish wishes or pleasures.
Abigail Williams’ Influence Is it okay for a person to lie and hurt other people just to keep him or herself safe? In Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible, Abigail Williams lies, a lot, to keep herself safe. Throughout the story, many people are accused of witchcraft. When a person is accused of witchcraft, it is very easy for them to get out of the accusation if they lie. The lies that are told shifts the belief of who knows witchcraft, and Abigail Williams uses those lies to gain influence over other people.
Moreover, Abigail and John were getting a little too close. Now, Abigail is in her teens and she can fall in what she thinks is love very easily. On the other hand, Mr. Proctor knows what he’s doing and basically does whatever he desires. John is everything Abigail wanted. In fact, Ms. Williams has been messing around the witchcraft and it has been told that she casted a spell on Elizabeth for her to die so that she can have John for herself.
