J.R.R. Tolkien is the author of the novel, The Hobbit, and throughout the course of this fantasy novel Tolkien has established the characteristics of his exhilarating characters. Many of these character traits include positives, like a strength in intelligence, and Tolkien includes negative characteristics in his novel like, being dull-witted. Also the reason being perspicacious is more important than physical strength. First a positive element in the novel is to be intelligent. This trait is established with the main character Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is a small hobbit who does not have any real magical powers.
