The type designer that I choose is Craig Ward, he is a British designer, typographer and art director, he comes from London and moved to New York in 2009. He went to work for Grey in the design department. He had his own studio from 2011 to 2016 in Brooklyn. He returned to working for an agency in 2016 as SVP Head of design in New York. Craig has contributed to some industry journals; and was the recipient of the Type Director’s Club Certificate of Typographic Excellence several times. Craig is the author of “Popular Lies About Graphic Design” published in 2013. He has been fortunate to work for some very impressive clients in advertising, music, fashion and publishing business. He went about collecting different bacterial samples from the high traffic surfaces like, hand rails and seats. Craig did this to create an unusual series of pictures of New York City’s complex eco system and to give a small snapshot of the city at large. Another, visual example of Craig Ward’s work is this type that was created to reflect the chalk and dust used by athletes. This was a part of Secret’s Olympics campaign. The final was a composite of about 80 photos.
The last visual example is an ad promoting MasterCard’s holiday lounge in Columbus Circle. With this ad, Craig worked with McCann New York and with time restrictions they had to use cinema grade VFS fake snow instead of real shaved ice. The trick was to do ten versions of each letter and photographed on glass and composited into the final
