In those days, kings would murder even their own families to maintain their position of authority. Macbeth gives the command to kill his best buddy. Why? Since the witches foretold that his sons would rule as kings. Another instance of Macbeth seeking to influence the future is his effort to kill Macduff after hearing the second round of witches' prophecies.
King Duncan arrived at dusk to the Macbeth castle to eat dinner with lady Macbeth to dance and have good time with together . In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, several characters have a certain degree of responsibility for the assassination of King Duncan and the murders that follow. Macbeth, being a soldier, knows how to kill and is familiar with this act. This may be damning evidence that Macbeth is completely responsible for the murders he commits throughout the play. However, while Macbeth may be thought of as ultimately responsible for his actions, there are certain steps taken by other characters, such as the witches, Lady Macbeth, King Duncan’s guards, and even King Duncan himself, that push Macbeth to his eventual downfall.
“If Macduff wants a fight, then he shall receive one. After all, I was the cause for the death for his family.” Macbeth turned, letting off an irritated sigh. “I refuse to be one who shies away from the pleasures of suicide, no matter how noble it may be.”

Now, some may think that both, the Macbeths, and the Witches are equally at fault, but I disagree. The witches had the most impact on Macbeth, and should take responsibility for everything that followed.

However, most of the time Macbeth shows three different fears considering the consequences of killing king Duncan. At the beginning of Act 1 Scene 7, Macbeth is in turmoil about killing Duncan.
Lady Macbeth is power hungry for the throne and she will do anything to achieve her goal. Her pleasure of having the thought of killing Duncan is revealed. These murderous thoughts that run through her mind shows how desperate she is to acquire power. Although it is the beginning of the play, her dark ambitions sets a dark tone for her character in the play. This coincidentally adds to the assurance of Macbeth’s prophecy which is that Macbeth will become king, but King Duncan is still alive.
