He came to power because life for the German people was very difficult after the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was forced to borrow money from America to pay its debts to England and France. When the United States was faced with the Great Depression they no longer were able to assist Germany in any way. Without America’s help Germany could not repay their debts, therefore they fell into a severe depression. Germany’s money became close to worthless.
Throughout the 1930s, countries who were upset over the outcome of World War I started to take aggression toward the other countries who had oppressed them through the Treaty Of Versailles. When Germany was defeated they became embarrassed and wanted to prove their superiority to other countries. However, Germany was in severe debt from World War I. As they struggled through financial ruin, many citizens were frustrated with the situation they faced and were extremely unhappy. This allowed the Nazi party and Hitler to rise to political power in Germany. Hitler was determined to restore glory to Germany and enact revenge on the countries that embarrassed them.
Germany felt this was humiliating and unjust, and many believed their country had been unfairly punished. In the 1930s, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party rose to power in Germany, promising to restore the country's greatness and overturn
Adolf Hitler was the ruler of Germany who was the leader of the Nazi party. The failure of the treaty of Versailles lead to the rise of his power as he argued that the treaty was unfair and
The causes of Hitler and the Nazi Party gaining power in Germany in 1934 were a large combination of factors. The first was losing world war one which created serious social, political, and economic effects on the Nation with the addition of the treaty of Versailles, the Wall Street crash and the Great Depression of 1929. Secondly, the newly elected socialist democratic government saw unable to provide solutions to all the crises - leading to the fall out of the Weimar Republic. The third factors were that Hitler would be secretly backed by powerful interests with the overuse of Article 48 and the supply of money from successful businessmen as he seemed to be the only politician able to provide the answers to the problems and his public speaking skills would
Is Scout a Reliable Narrator? In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee the protagonist, who happens to be the narrator, is Scout Finch a six-year old girl who lives in Maycomb, Alabama. Since Scout is a very young child the book contains many hyperboles, or a literary device in which an author uses specific words or phrases that exaggerate and overemphasize the basic statement in order to produce a grander, more noticeable effect. So is this a detriment or an asset to the book?
Adolf Hitler was a decorated war veteran of World War I, who was angry with Germanys’ defeat in the war which lead the country into an economic crisis. Adolf Hitler joined the German Workers’ Party. After a short time with the Workers’ Party, Hitler began giving speeches blaming the Jewish community for the poverty and economic difficulties Germany was experiencing. This attracted many new members. He later took control of the Party and renamed it the Nationalist Socialist German Workers Party, also know as the Nazi Party. This party gave Hitler he power to rule the people of Germany from 1933 to 1945.
The Nazi used the Great Depression as the boost to gain support from the Germans. Due to America’s depression, Germany was put into a dire state as unemployment increased, thus resulted in the Nazi gaining votes during the 1933 election. The depression caused desperation within the people that made them feel that the Weimar Republic could not look after them or the country’s financial problems. Hitler made promises to get rid of the unemployment rate, thus gaining the support of the public. Although the Great Depression was a key factor to Hitler’s rise to power but there were other causes: the German’s were looking for a saviour and Hitler happened to be that person; Hitler also played on the German’s fear factor of Communism and Communist which led him to get votes from the middle to higher class citizens by the burning of the Reichstag.
As people grow and mature some of their motives stay the same but it is their tactics, their way of getting what they want, that is what changes. And in this case Hitler had grown into so much power and had sunk his roots into the people when they were in a time of need after world war one, and they found refuge in him. They saw him as a very powerful individual who seemed to know what he wanted ad how he was going to get it. So in short they trusted him with their lives. And Hitler got so power hungry that he was willing to do whatever to create a master race, one that he saw fit to rule and populate the earth.
When Hitler came into power in Germany’s democratic system of government was weak. There were people suffering a process of returning people to the place they were born and also returning refugees or military persons to the place they were born after World War 1. There were also lots of food shortages and very high unemployment rates which caused many people to starve and to be very poor due to having no job to source money from. The Great Depression had a rather large effect on the Weimar republic and this had an impact on the people and made them start to lose faith in the republic and this was because the treaty took most of Germany’s money and recourses. The German people were on food rations and they were in economic desperation and
Narrator To kill a mocking bird written by Harper Lee has been narrated by Scout Finch whose real name is Jean Louis Finch. Scout Finch is the youngest character in the story. The story is written in first-person but the interesting aspect of the narration is that the novel is told from both the childhood’s point of view as well as her adult and mature perspective.
Everyone has heard of Adolf Hitler and how he tried to conquer Europe. He attempted doing it at the right time when everyone thought that Germany was going to lose everything, because, the national debt and inflation was so high. Germany was so desperate for anyone to help them that Adolf Hitler saw a chance to step up and be in charge of everything. Hitler was very good at acting like he really cared about his people. He claimed to the German people that he would help with unemployment, help businesses, success to the failed businesses, and to expand their army to make them more powerful.
The Party eventually gained more and more supporters until it rose to power and Hitler eventually became the chancellor of Germany in 1933. He then anointed himself as the supreme ruler of Germany or the “Fuhrer” in 1934. It was the start of the terrifying dictatorship that displaced the Jews from their homes and killed millions of
In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, figuring out the true protagonist is can be difficult because there are so many characters that could be the protagonist. Some people might say that Scout is the protagonist because she is the narrator and also the main character, but that does not make her the protagonist. The next thing that someone might say is that Jem is the protagonist because he changes so much, and he becomes more responsible, choosing to do the right thing more often than not. In reality, the true protagonist is Atticus, and this is because he is the one who tries to pass his values of right and wrong on to Jem and Scout. Atticus always does what is right, regardless of what other people think.
The weaknesses faced by the Weimar Republic was known which also enabled Hitler to exploit the weaknesses of the left and the moderates. Appearing to be the strong leader and withholding the communication skills needed to lead a country, he was able to gain the votes he needed (Orlow 'Modern Germany ' p.185). There were violent strikes in the streets, back and forth fighting, rioting. People were killed and the people of Germany, who feared Communism and despise chaos, sided with the “volkishe” parties, who promised to establish law and order. The people of Germany thought rather than having thousands die it would be better to have law and order and break a few heads than to live with that chaos.
