I was researching online and I found a very interesting case that took place in Houston, Texas. This case involved a 22-year-old female at the time that goes by the name of Cherita Thurman. Cherita was beaten very badly and hog-tied in her apartment back in 2002(KHOU, 2017). The exterminator was making his rounds and that’s when he found her breathless body just lying there. Cherita death was immediately ruled as a homicide because there were no leads to the case (KHOU, 2017).
August 4th, 1892, around noon Andrew Borden was found in the parlor of his home, followed by the finding of his wife’s body in an upstairs bedroom. Who did it? Several theories have been given as the causes of this murder. Lizzie Borden, was accused of this crime, but the question is was she really the murderer? The theories have emerged which could explain the causes of Andrew and Abby Borden’s death.
On 08Dec17, Sergeant Michael Cummins was contacted by Deputy Matt Mosley from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a military munition that was found in his neighbors back yard. Deputy Mosley stated that his neighbor, David Hillard stated that he was outside playing with his kids when he tripped over what he thought was a tree root. Deputy Mosley stated that his neighbor then observed what looked to be a military round dating back to the civil war. Sergeant Cummins then notified Trooper Christopher Logan about the call and they both responded to the above mentioned address. Upon arrival, Sergeant Cummins and Trooper Logan made contact with sheriff deputies who showed them where the round was.
This specific murder helped connect leads and motives to unmask the killer. In September of 1935, “Two teenagers wandering through Kingsbury Run came across the body of a man stripped nude save for a pair of socks. Washed clean and drained of blood, the man’s wrists showed signs of rope burn. Both his head and genitalia had been removed. Lucky for police, the victim could be identified via fingerprints as Edward Andrassy—a drifter who had prior arrests”(Casale).
Have you ever killed some one? Over a 100 years ago Lizzie's parents were brutally murdered by someone and the only person they focused on was the daughter lizzie borden. Lizzie Borden was the axe murderer no doubt about it because all the signs pointed to no other than Lizzie herself. The reason I think Lizzie killed her parents was because she didn't like her stepmother and thought if she didn't kill her father her father would think its her. Lizzie is a true mastermind to have gotten away with murder because there is no other explanation to Lizzie's parents brutal death.

Police were having such a hard time solving this investigation and were so desperate for a break that they looked for help from a well known nationwide criminologist to help look into the investigation. The public was calling in tips continuously, yet many of them were false tips. What would soon be considered to be the last of the co-ed killings occurred on July 23rd, 1969, where an 18 year old girl named Karen Beinemen’s body was found. Beinemen was found strangled and nude, her face was beaten terribly. She was last seen by a store clerk where she was purchasing a wig from, where she mentioned how she was getting a ride with a stranger on a motorcycle.

A young waitress who aspired to become a Hollywood star was found brutally murdered in Los Angeles, California, near the University of Southern California Medical School. She was cut clean in half at the waist and left naked on the sidewalk. She was found by a mom and her daughter, who thought she was a mannequin but were horribly terrified after they found out the truth. Although she was cut in half and on the sidewalk, there was no blood at the scene of the crime, as well as no evidence of who did it. Despite the fact that there are murderers who are known for cutting people in half, they do not have the skill to do it, as well as whoever murdered the woman on the sidewalk.
Crimes are often glorified by being made into movies or books, but one in particular is the Black Dahlia Murder. On January 15, 1947, aspiring actress Elizabeth Short’s body was found in Leimert Park. The media popularized her death-inspiring novels and movies based on her murder. Dr. George Hodel committed the Black Dahlia murder because his son confirmed it, the body was cut surgically, and similar crimes were committed nearby. Steve Hodel, George Hodel's son, says his father killed Elizabeth Short.

Some people believe it was a psycho bellhop that worked at a hotel next to where Elizabeth lived, or a nightclub owner that Elizabeth was last seen speaking to before her death, some people even believe that their own father committed the crime.
