Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet's Death

The story of Romeo and Juliet has been an important part of literature since William Shakespeare published it in 1597. Though many people know about the deaths that happen at the end of the tragedy, few people have an idea of who is to blame for these deaths. Juliet is the most to blame for these deaths, because for one she should have known better than to try to marry someone she had just met the day before, and even then if she had realized that if her father had disowned her she would be able to go to Romeo without any trouble. If the story arc was followed exactly up to the deaths of Romeo and Paris, she still could have escaped with Friar Laurence as stated when, “Come, I’ll dispose of thee among a sisterhood of holy nuns.”(5.3.156-157)
