Who is to blame for the start of WW1? Well if you ask me then Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Serbia are all to blame for the start of the war. Each of them individually played a part in starting WW1. Austria Hungary, Germany, and Serbia should all be blamed equally for turning a local European conflict into a global war. The tension between Austria and Serbia grew into a greater conflict between the European powers. All the blank cheques with the different countries pulled Germany and russia into the war. The conflict between Serbia and Austria started growing into a global war after pulling in Italy, France, Britain, and FInally America . Each country joined a side either the Alliance or the Central Powers. Each side fought desperately only gaining a few feet of land over a couple months time. The results of the war was more than 17 million Deaths and 20 million wounded, this includes both military and civilian. The black hand group from Serbia was one of the major factors in sparking the war. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand made the Austrian people greatly angry with Serbia which led to further events starting the war. Serbia also had a lot of allies such as the triple entities which made serbia quite powerful. Serbia had made agreements throughout Europe for mutual defence that would pull them into battle. After the start of the conflict more countries were pulled in to participate in the war. Once the war had started between Serbia and Austria because of the assassination, the Russians felt obligated to help serbia because they were related between blood and religion. After the Russians came Germany, France, Britain, and finally America making it a global war. This is why Serbia is one of the main countries that should be blamed for starting
