Getting through high school is something people are forced to go through to get into college, if deciding to drop out of high school a GED is needed. Obtaining a postsecondary education is important to me because I have a passion for helping people and learning. As a first-generation postsecondary student, I understand the values of education. I grew up with my parents always telling me that I am lucky because I will have a chance to get an education, most people live struggling to make ends meet because they didn 't have a chance, just like my parents. In today’s society, it is getting much more difficult to survive without one. Most places of business that offer substantial wages and benefits require some sort of college degree. This is a problem for most people in the United States due to the fact that only 17% of the U.S. population has earned a college degree (Odland).
Generally students with just a high school diploma receive a job that is not the most paying, such as grocery store clerk, waiter, security guard and other jobs that don’t require a college degree. Also there a chance that not receiving or graduating college can cause you be unemployed. Therefore, receiving a college degree shows commitment, perseverance, and tenacity. Furthermore a level of knowledge and skill, it shows promise, and most importantly, it will open doors that will help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Think about it the future America is going to develop more advanced jobs that require a Bachelor or Associates degree such as fields with the most projected job openings like health care, community services, and STEM.
I wish to attend college to further enhance my education, to be a first generation college student, and to become a better version of myself. First, I wish to enhance and further my education. Knowledge is the key to success and those keys can unlock doors never before seen. A high school diploma is great but it is not enough for me or any huge company.

Obama once said “And no matter what you want to do with your life, I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it.” (Obama 67-71) College education is typically considered to be very useful when one is wanting their dream career or a career with good annual pay. Without college education, it is highly likely that employers will not hire people with only a high school diploma. A college level education is valuable because one can have better wealth, is less likely to be unemployed, and better social skills.
Every person is challenged in the race of life. Many have succeeded and finished the race, but what really is at the end of every obstacle course? Even though, there are some people who succeed without a college degree. Having a degree gives a person the best job opportunities, higher income, and good wages. College degree is essential to get the best job opportunities.

The personality, attitude, emotional stability, morale, commitment towards work of a teacher determines the quality of education. Reports of Kothari Commission (1964) says that “Of all the different factors which influence the quality of education and its contribution to national development, the quality, competence, and character of teachers are undoubtedly the most significant”. This statement reiterates the importance of teachers and their attitudes.
