The civil war was a time of brutal death and pure murder. The times were dark and cold. The use of clothes was very important in this time of history. The clothes would protect the soldiers from the cold and harsh weather. This has totally changed over the years. Clothes were hard to come by because they were self-made, but now new clothes are in every corner of America. Depending on the creation of the clothes is how they are worn because of the situation, the time periods, and the use of the clothes. First and foremost, depending on the creation of the clothes is how they are worn is because of the situation that it’s used in. Clothes wasn’t always made in factories, this all started in the civil war. In source 1 it stated that “As the war continued, however, manufacturers started to build factories that could quickly and efficiently meet the growing demands of the military”. Before this had happened the military were using home-made clothes that would take a long to produce. This was a crucial time for clothes development because the clothes needed to be made quickly and efficiently. Clothes before the industrial revolution were made and worn differently.
