Harper Lees novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, shows the main character, Scout’s, perspective as the daughter of the attorney Atticus, who is defending Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman, in Maycomb Alabama. Lee establishes the setting of Maycomb through the use of an “old fashioned” mood of the outdated town, ultimately this illustrates the purpose of a simple life and habitual racism that the people of Maycomb adhere to. The people in Maycomb stick to their normal daily routines and old beliefs, this displays the simple lives that they are living.
Back then people living in the Ice Age Era had a hard time finding food, so they would use horses as a source of meat and would kill a lot at a time. Most people would call this cruelty, but back then horses were the only source of meat. "Humans finally realized horses could be good for work if they were domesticated". ("Horses"). Eventually people stopped killing the beautiful creatures, and started training them to ride and help farm lands to produce more, and also to transport goods.
There is an important question many people today wonder; I found that there are several people who see how showing livestock affects kids in school and in life. I chose this topic because so many people think that showing livestock is just a waste of time and money, but they have no idea what it entails. Other people don’t realize that showing livestock isn’t about the money or just having a pet. I am writing this paper because everybody should know that showing isn’t about having a pet, it’s about gaining responsibilities and learning new things that can help you later in life. Showing livestock helps children go farther in life because it teaches them more responsibility, they work harder, and they never give up on their dreams.

The meat industry has helped our economy become as strong as it is due the amount of people that consume it. According to an article by Zach Nold, he mentions the negatives of taking out the meat industry from our economy. He cites the EPA when he states, “The beef industry is so important that in the 2000s, it produced $49 billion annually in direct economic output” (Nold). This shows how big the meat industry is in our economy. Keep in mind, these numbers reflect only the beef industry, not including meats such as pork, chickens and other industries that produce meat.
Eating meat is beneficial to humanity, because they provide nourishment that cannot be obtained from other sources. Without the support of animals, humans lack a distinctive diet, that is essential to their well-being. However, since animals are so important to the diet, they deserve great care and respect as well. Humans were always hunters and gathers. They always knew that meat was a big source of protein that helped keep them going(Araki).
