Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is set in Verona, Italy. It is the tale of two young adults falling in love while their families clash against each other. They go behind their families’ backs to marry each other. However, the pressure of the feud between the families is too much and they end up dead. There are many factors that lead to Romeo and Juliet killing themselves, but Capulet and Montague and the stress that they put on their children caused them to kill themselves. One of the biggest things that the families did to stress Romeo and Juliet out was how they were always fighting. The parents also never tried to talk to their children about how things are going with their life, which built a barrier between them. One main thing that affects the story is that these families would fight in the streets of Verona. They were warned that if they fought again both would be banished. But they didn’t listen. Mr. Montague and Mr. Capulet are responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because they were persistent with their fight against each other and overlooked their kids and the rules of the city. …show more content…

One constant throughout the whole book until the last page is the fact that the Montagues and the Capulets hate each other and this took a toll on the two lovers. One prime example is when Romeo gets banished for killing Tybalt. After he is banished the Capulets arrange a marriage between Juliet and Paris to make Juliet feel better.This is when everything goes wrong and Juliet has thoughts of killing herself. “Thou, wretched boy, that didst consort him here Shalt with him hence.” act 3 scene 1 line
