“A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel” (King James Version, Prov. 12.10). In order to fully regard the life of God’s beasts, we must preserve/facilitate their population so others can look and marvel at God’s creation. Information shows that seahorse populations are commonly vulnerable to heavy exploitation due to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), aquarium trade, and destruction of natural habitats (Allee). The IUCN red list of threatened species tracks animal populations and classifies them based on conservation status. Many species of seahorse such as the Hippocampus Reidi are classified as data deficient; showing there is a lack of research and concern over these disappearing
They are very undetectable snakes and spend most of the day under rocks or sometimes underground.
With these new adaptations, rats could swim further than ever to reach past sparse areas in the algae and access more food. The rats who could not swim far enough died of starvation, and all rats eventually had this once rare
The bottlenose dolphin has made adaptions for its need for energy, need to reproduce, predation, and abiotic environmental factors. There are three adaptations for abiotic environmental factors. The first one is that the bottlenose dolphin will rapidly emerge from the water to dive back in as a way to save energy so they can swim faster. They also just do this for pure fun. It is common for dolphins to have a limited amount of motion but because the bottlenose dolphin only has two out of seven neck vertebrae fused, it provides them more flexibility at the neck.
I think that SeaWorld is an amazing facility. I love the fact that they rescue sea creatures from their inevitable death. I love the fact that children love to come here. I love the fact that this place causes children to subconsciously learn something. I love to bring my kids here on the weekend to watch the shows that the trainers put on with the orcas.
The Great White Shark The Great White Sharks, known mostly because of their white underbellies, are one of the most powerful aquatic animals in the world. They can swim at about 25 Miles Per Hour (40 Kilometers per hour) because of their strong muscles and forceful tails. In addition to that, male Great Whites can grow around 11.5 to 13.1 feet long, while females can grow from 14.8 to 16.4 feet long. This paper will demonstrate how Great White Sharks are an important part of their ecosystem, how their diets work and will adequately describe their habitats. As predators in their ecosystem, Great White sharks help maintain the coral reefs and seagrass habitats.
Also they use echolocation, it uses to locate prey and communicate each
Ww2, Destiny Landingham Per. 8 In the world war 2 they used horses to carry stuff they couldn’t and to ride when they would go into battles. During the world war 2 horses had to help by carrying stuff and fighting in the war. During world war 2 the people would use their horses to carry and do things they couldn’t do themselves.
Wild horses have been living on the lower Salt River long before the Tonto National Forest was established in 1902. It is believed the horses are the descendants of the Spanish horses brought to Arizona by Spanish missionary Father Eusebio Kino in the1600s. Historic news articles dating between 1890 and 1927 document over 500,000 wild horses roaming the plains of Arizona. Thousands of wild mustangs, descendants of animals ridden by Spanish conquistadors and Indian warriors were rounded up and slaughtered for pet food.
There has been a long time misconception on the threat that sharks have on humans. Originally developed after the release of the movie Jaws, the fear of being subject to a shark attack has escalated, causing humans to view sharks as an imminent threat to their lives. Due to their high status sharks have been a desired delicacy for several years. Shark fins are mainly used in a popular Chinese dish called shark fin soup, which originates back to Chinese emperors who saw it as an honorable and potentially healthy dish. Currently over 100 million sharks are being taken from the ocean each year due to shark hunting/finning (Shark Hunting – an Indiscriminate Trade).
Marsupial Tasmanian Devil - Found in Tasmania - Can live anywhere in Tasmania but prefer coastal scrublands and forests - Sleep under rocks, in caves, logs or burrows - Mostly eat birds, snakes, fish and insects - They will eat the dead Carcasses (carrion) of these animals - Tasmanian devils eat the bones, hair, organs and muscle of their prey 1. Strong jaw – To eat the carcasses 2. Dark fur – Helps them to blend into their environment at night as they’re nocturnal 3. Excellent sense of smell – Helps them to locate prey and also to sense predators 4. Nocturnal Monotreme Platypus - Fresh water streams and rivers in the eastern states of Australia - Small invertebrate animals including crustaceans, worms and mollusks - Will also
Adaptation is the key to an organism’s survival. It is the only way that organisms can advance with the ever changing environment. According to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection, the organisms that obtain inheritable traits which permit them to adapt better to their habitat are more likely to survive, reproduction and pass these traits to their offsprings. Thanks to dedicated biological researchers, veterinarians and well-advanced technology, we now have incredible new insights into the life of the polar bears.
In “Why No One Helps in a Crisis”, John Darley and Bibb Latane assert that no one helps in a crisis because they are unperceptive, slow to recognize a crisis and diffused of responsibility when others are present in a crisis. Firstly, Darley and Latane explain that people do not help in a crisis because they are unperceptive of their surroundings. People tend to not pay attention to what is happening around them and thus might not be aware that a crisis has occurred. Darley and Latane used the example of a staged crisis whereby smoke was released into the waiting area through a vent and most of the subjects were unaware of the situation they were in until the area became too smoky, causing them discomfort. Hence, this shows that people do not
In the freshwater biome, the catfish has a unique role in many cycles and systems. The catfish is a predator for many organisms, but is also hunted by other animals. A catfish eats phytoplankton, zooplankton, frogs, insects, and chironomids, creatures similar to mosquitos. Catfish are hunted by humans, herons, ospreys, eagles, and some types of sunfish. When a catfish is decomposed, bacteria breaks it down into a simpler form of matter.
In my opinion, I believe that marine mammals should not be held in captivity for many reasons. To start, they are taking away the animals from their natural habitat. Secondly, captivity causes both major and minor health problems. Another significant reason is that the poor marine creatures do not have enough space to swim resulting in severe boredom and causing them to do harm to themselves Captivity causes many health problems for the innocent marine mammals. There was an incident when Six of Marineland 's seals were blinded, or got serious eye problems because of the unclean water.
