Today, I would like to talk to you about how I would love to make an impact on the agriculture community that I live in today, and why I am writing to obtain this scholarship. As soon as I was born, my parents knew I would be the “farm girl”, as I am the youngest of seven siblings . I was born with a burning passion for agriculture and from the day I was born, until now I continue to spread to others the love I have for agriculture. I plan on attending Ashland University in the fall of 2018, and majoring in middle grades education with a focus on Science.
As the youngest of seven, I learned and lived that, “you have to work for what you have.” Daily, I watched my father utilize scientific information,weather, formulas, chemicals,soil composition ,watering cycles, and the environment on our family farm. Through experience and as a second-generation farm child, I will be able to bring real-life demonstrations to the classroom to illustrate the importance of agriculture. I plan to develop extraordinary field trips to local business or farms to further the children's education on feeding, breeding, and raising livestock. I also plan on having discussions about how not only can American farm products be used in our own country, but used and sold around the world in this changing global market. I plan on utilizing websites-- like Sunrise’s where i can share how a business utilizes the latest technology and equipment to meet the demands of the evolving agriculture field. Through research, I can teach about the livestock division, feed, grain, and cattle
