Thank you for taking the time to review my personal statement on why I have chosen to embark on the journey to become a Physician Assistant. My story started several years ago, more than I care to count, when I stumbled into the health care world as a paramedic in rural Pennsylvanian. While in high school, I became friends with several other students who were actively volunteering with a local fire department. After hearing their stories about the things they were learning and doing I also joined a volunteer fire department, mostly out of curiosity. Over the course of a couple of years I discovered that the challenges that I encountered during training and responding to emergencies had unlocked some unrealized, more like unknown, drive inside
Calvin Neal Exploring a Health Career: Physician Assistant Ever since my cousin Paul, whom I’ve always looked up to, went to college and became a PA, I’ve wanted to follow in his footsteps. The definition of a physician assistant is “someone qualified to assist a physician and carry out routine clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.” However, physician assistants can be so much more than that. They work in numerous fields such as pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and with several health care providers such as nurses, surgeons, and physicians.
I am a firm believer that in order to be happy and successful, you need to have a job that you love to do. This ideology is what motivated me to want to become a nurse practitioner and help the people in my community. Attending California State University, Los Angeles is allowing me to pursue my academic goal of getting into the nursing program. I aspire to get my bachelors of science in nursing to be able to become a registered nurse. After gaining experience as a registered nurse, I will pursue a master of science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
A dream is a reflection of hopes and possibilities but without inspiration, motivation and encouragement it leads to an unfilled passion. What one hopes to become is built on the foundation of the upbringing and lifestyle because inspiration comes from within and from the surrounding. Surrounded by water and raised in wildlife was the lifestyle I accepted and cherish as a child; this lifestyle gave me hope and the possibility to dream. It created a young woman whom was filled with confidence, imagination and optimism. Jamaica, the land of beauty and inspiration.
In the world of college, there are many majors or professions to choose from. Whatever career I choose to take, I know that there are many doors open for me to walk through. Planning for life after high school, I am considering going into the medical field to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (NICU). A NICU Nurse is a nurse who cares for premature and critically ill newborns that are born in need of immediate medical attention.
I wish to pursue my career in the care profession, due to previous experiences looking after elderly people. Over the years my desire to continue working in the care sector has grown, along with the experiences gained throughout my previous studies. My interest in working with and around new people, has lead me on to completing a Health and Social Care short course, where I gained valuable knowledge on how to look after elderly and the disabled people. My role demands high levels of communication skills as it involves working with other agencies such as doctors, nutritionists, social workers, therapists, day center staff and police.
Everyone in life have a goal for the future whether it is big or small. People may say why do they need to write their goals down or have a plan why not just take it one day at a time, but if we all should say that time passes us by and we accomplished nothing. Having a plan, it direct towards the right path of our future whether it be five or ten years plan. Thus, people who love to procrastinate writing a career plan a good way to keep them focus on their future goals before retirement age. Hence to have a career plan one must know what their career interest is whether it be sales law or healthcare.
I have chosen public health as my major because it is a dynamic field. I have a passion for making a difference in people’s lives and helping others achieve their goals. It is with great passion that I am dedicated and willing to contribute my service or skills to help someone in need. My philosophy of health education is very simple, to prevent, improve and educate the lives of individuals, families, communities, populations, and societies. Besides, there is no safer way to touch people’s lives than through public health.
Before attending the graduate studies at George Washington University, I was working a full-time job and was not fulfilled in my career. The position had minimum growth for development and I felt as though I was not being challenged by my daily tasks. I then decided to go back to school and get my Masters of Public Health degree to advance in the workforce and expand my opportunities of employment and career development. My experience so far as a graduate student has been a life changing experience and also an eye-opening experience of the strong need in Public Health both globally and locally. Public health is a rapidly growing and continuously changing career; however, it is also a very broad career and multi-disciplinary field, which includes

I have always thought about working in the medical field, but where was the question. I started looking at the field of nursing. My mom works as a nurse so it was obvious that I start there. From my research I found out all of the great things about being a nurse. This research answered my question.
Why do I want to become a nurse? Nursing, the one job everyone says that is so fulling, and will change your perspective on the world forever. I wanted to be a nurse since the time I was 10 years old, because I saw what they do for others every day. Becoming a nurse was so important to me because, I wanted to do something in my career that is interesting, challenging, and makes a difference in people's lives on a daily basis.
5MOTIVATION OF STAFF TOWARDS EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CONCEPT Motivation is the reason or reasons one has to acting or behaving in a particular way or the general desire or willingness of someone to do something. When critically and effective healthcare delivery. This is because when we make patients care an important and valuable task, we tend to put in all our best with high level of dedication and making sure that quality service is rendered to our patients.
