Remember when we were all kids, how we would want to be an astronaut or the president when we grew up? Did we achieve those dreams? Or even begin to pursue them? For most of us our interests changed and we found other things to work towards. Personally I found interest in more physical tasks. Two careers that I found to interest me were pipelayer and race car technician. In this essay I will state a few of the pros and cons of careers such as pipelayer and race car technician. The career of being a pipelayer has many pros and cons, here are two pros and cons of pipe laying. One pro to becoming a piplayer is that after highschool only 2 years of school is required. All that is required is the attendance of a 2 year trade school before you can get straight into the job. Another pro is this career is very physical. Starting off with the pros, the salary of a race car technician lands more around the $70,000 range. Race car technicians make more on average and up to $150,000 on the top end. Another pro of becoming a race technician is that it is more enjoyable as a daily job. For those who already have a hobby in cars, getting paid for doing your hobby would be quite enjoyable. On the other hand, race car technicians have more direct stress to do their job correctly. For example, if a race car technician were to forget to make an adjustment before a race, that could cost the driver the race or even his life if he got in a crash. Another con is the schooling required. There is no direct requirement other than certain skills and experience, making it hard to fit the requirements without having experience prior to starting your job pursuit.
