Why I Want To Be A Science Fair

As student in University of Delaware I would expect to be most comfortable in the quaint silence of the library. There’s a magical quality of being surrounded by books filled with unknown knowledge that makes me feel right at home. In the classroom, I would enjoy engaging in small group discussions about complex ideas and theories. I can imagine my favorite subject being the same as it is now: science. Outside of the classroom, walking down the mainstreet, enjoying the green scenery of the campus, and engaging in clubs would be part of my daily routine. My artistic muscles would need to be stretched in my English or Public Speaking classes. All in all, life as a University of Delaware student would be tremendous.

It was a tough decision but, I believed that I would enjoy AP Biology more and it would prepare me more for college. These situation was never resolved because there was nothing I could do on my part. However, if these situations were to happen during my college experience I would be more persistent in what I want due to the impact the lack of these classes had on my class rank.When most students hear that Science Fair season is just around the corner audible groans ensue. However, I see science fair as an opportunity to prove how dedicated of a student I am. My chosen topic Junior year was controlling stress through deep breathing. Ironically, it was a stressful time. My motivation to complete the project derived from projecting my message about the importance of controlling one’s stress. When the task proved to be challenging, I turned to my family, chocolate, and my ambition to win. They helped me remain motivated and excited to share my idea with the world. In the end, I won second place in my High School.As stated before, I found it troubling that I could not take all of the challenging classes I wanted to because of scheduling conflicts and miscommunications.
