"Uh-huh, sure you will, babe." Glaring up towards my boyfriend, I struggled against the bright sun overhead and antagonizing him for such a remark. After sharing with him one of my lifetime dreams, he, copying nearly all people I told it to, laughed it off. Those who laughed at my ultimate dream only made me yern to untiringly push forward to achieve it. The joke would be on him eventually, as my plans to reach my goal have been in motion for years now. Someday I will ride a giraffe. Understanding that giraffes, resembling any large animal, are complex creatures I know not just anyone will ride one. At the same time, I've always had a deep connection to helping larger animals such as cattle, horses, sheep, etc. So while I'm in high school, I've taken numerous advanced math and science classes to sharpen myself for the pre-veterinary courses I'll need in college. Forbearing sleep and weekends I studied for the ACT and the SAT to further impress colleges. Being accepted into veterinary school is step one. Copious charities can also be found in Africa working to provide farm animals, such as goats, sheep and cattle, to local cultivators to meliorate their lives. What those charities fail to offer though is veterinary work.
